Chlorophyll

While we sleep floras are in slumber deep
Pollution’s nemesis locked deep away in nature’s keep.
No green is seen in dawn’s early light
Life has rested all throughout the night
Smoke stacks puff ton on ton into the dark
Flora can’t work nights so humans hark.
There is only one “air.”

Chlorophyll

Clear out your mind. Clear out your mind. Clear out your mind.
Take a breath kind. Take a breath kind. Take a breath kind.
Chlorophyll green… Chlorophyll green… Chlorophyll green…
What have you seen? What have you seen? What have you seen?
There is only one “air.”

Chlorophyll

Slow into the box canyon of progress we trot.
Government agency parthian, sometimes not.
Ways out known now seen mostly impractical.
Polluting’s ends not strategic, just now tactical.
Slip sliding slowly into earth’s heat we sail.
Even chlorophyll against it cannot prevail.
Plants need more water and fail if in drought
just look about you, please weigh in if any doubt.
There is only one “air”
